English football, thumbs up or down?
|
EPL is often touted as the best league in the world.
Looking at the current game some have a different view/opinion.
Personally I think those in charge are getting it right finally.
The EPL looks pretty competitive right now, not the usual top 4 ruling the Euro places.
Newcastle, Villa, Brighton, Spurs, Us, all banging on the door and are becoming a real threat to the hierachy.
Some great new stadiums have been built over recent years too. TV coverage has improved and the Championship is as competitive as ever.
The Euro tournaments seem to be a big success too. Especially for lil old West Ham.
VAR is a work in progress that needs to be figured out, perhaps there needs to be 3 decision makers voting on a VAR decision to hopefully improve some of the bad decisions that have become a recent problem.Just a thought.
Anyway, how do you see the state of the game right now!

Do you have a beautiful body and would you hold it against me if I said so?

I've always said I'd like to see more progression of English players and less foreign players - especially the cheap average ones that teams favoured over our own talent. When you look at the strength and general competitivenes of the teams in the league and the strength of the England national side who mainly play here, it has to be doing alright.
It will be interesting to see if the Saudi league keeps spending huge sums and draining other leagues of talent - I anticipate it will end up the way of the MLS and Chinese leagues, interest will eventually wane and a new toy will be sought by owners.

It’s stronger than ever the only thing that lets it down and massively is the refereeing which is scandalous. All we need now is a manager in the fergie mould to sort the national team out
